Advanced Learner Loans
As of the 2013/2014 academic year, learners who are aged 24 or over are no longer eligible for government funding when studying further education courses. Instead, if they cannot afford to pay for the course fees themselves, they can request a loan from the Student Loan Company (SLC) by requesting a Learning Funding and Information letter from the institution and then making an application to the SLC either online or by post.
This online documentation covers how to do the following in the Advanced Learner Loans functionality:
- Configure Advanced Learner Loans
- Set up courses to be eligible for advanced learner loans
- Import SLC details into ebs: central
- Manage the loan details for your learners
- Export Attendance and Change of Circumstance (CoC) files to the SLC
Note: This online documentation assumes that you have access to the SLC Provider Portal to export learner loan details and import Attendance and CoC files. If you do not have access then contact your system administrator before using this documentation.
For more information on how to use the SLC Provider Portal, refer to the SLC Learning Provider Services website and go to the Support Materials page to download the latest Provider Portal User Guide.
